Many of the attractions in the Hunter are based around the amazing wine that’s produced across the region. Along with wine, there are lots of great markets, craft breweries, and restaurants for you to enjoy across the Hunter Region. Natural Attractions

If you want to get off the beaten track, there are lots of great national parks to explore, including Wallarah National Park, Watagans National Park, Mt Royal National Park, and World Heritage-listed Yengo National Park.

There are also lakes to visit, including Lake St Clair and Lake Macquarie. The Hunter also features lots of magnificent coastline, which you can enjoy under an umbrella, in the water, or on a boat.

You can see fine examples of Aboriginal rock carving at Mt Yengo National Park, or just enjoy the sight of kangaroos or eagles in the late afternoon sun.

Adventure and fun

If you’re looking for adventure, there are plenty of ways to get your blood pumping. The Hunter Valley is famous for air-based activities, including hot air ballooning, skydiving, aerobatics and helicopter joy flights.

If you like your fun a little closer to the ground, there are lots of opportunities to go trekking, horse riding, boating, and so much more. If you want a memorable day out with your kids, visit Hunter Valley Zoo, just out of Cessnock.

Special events

There are lots of world-class events held in the Hunter Valley each year, many of which feature internationally renowned artists.

Regular events include music events, A Day On The Green, Hope Estate Concerts, Lovedale Long Lunch, and Sculpture in the Vines. Tabitha Hill is well located for all these events, with Rover Coaches and other pickup services able to transport you directly to the event.
